Its hit or miss at this place...can not beat the pricing. It only takes 1 or 2 idiot jack asses to ruin it for the rest us no matter where you go. So yeah, catch a flick on a bad day when drunk parents dump there undisciplined little brats off to roam the premisis all day talking and playing their dsi's during the movie, and you might not come back. On a good day everybody minds their manners like human beings and you will show up again. Society to blame,,,not the management. Same everywhere.

OMG if u dont like the place dont go there- What do u expect? Its a cheap place to go and its great for people with kids- As far as loud rude people during the movie- hell i live in Castleton and have been to the AMC a few times and people there are loud and rude during the movie- I guess because Movies 8 is near the Washington Square Mall people have nothing better to do then talk negative about it- Stay home if u dont like it or pay 12.00 a ticket-

I don't understand why you few are complaining so much. This theater may not be terribly clean all of the time but it is a cheap movie. I have never been disgusted by anything I have seen so I feel like you may be exaggerating. My boyfriend and I go to the movies every Tuesday and I have never had any problems. Besides the ridiculous concessions, I love this place. You are all nit-picky and high strung.

For the person who wrote the statement before me, please no longer come to the theater. That way you will no longer have to deal with all the things that do not occur at that theater. I can not stand it when individuals take it among themselves to flat out lie.
I come with my family on Monday, when it is $0.50 and the popcorn plus a drink is $2.50 . You can not beat that price. I have never seen them run out of popcorn. I also go on Tuesday which is family night $0.75 . The entire family can watch a movie. I never had anyone talking at the screen or fight. I have never seen thugs walking in the theater. If you call families coming with their children to watch a family movie thugs, then you need your head checked. -
Please, please...that is why we have so many options. Go where you feel safe, and where it is clean enough for you. Why don't we focus on something more meaningful. Offer tip for improvement and not so much criticism. I'm just saying...

Don't care what you say it IS in an area close to the hood (apartments across from Meijer) Lots of undesirables there. The people that see movies there are loud and never shut up when the movies are playing. Restrooms look like an outhouse with tile and smell worse. I guess for the low price you should expect outhouse like conditions? I think not. This is a business and their business is to keep the customers happy. Don't care what they charge. I am betting the Board of Health does not look at the price of admission and say well heck never mind there is soda all over the theater or feces on the bathroom floor. It's cool as long as it is affordable. Laughable. Just because a few reviewers on here are okay with filth does not mean we are all pigs
As far as running out of popcorn seen that a few times but that is okay because they charge so little lol. Concessions is where they make their money so that is inexcusable! All in all this place is a dump but if you can stand that and the thugs that frequent the theater then this is the place for you. -
it is a DOLLAR THEATRE. Use the bathroom before you go and sneak snacks and drinks in. Its not complicated. If you dont like how things are then rent the movie on redbox when it comes out and watch it at home. For some people it is the only affordable way to enjoy the movie theatre experience. I come from a big family and we were allowed to go to the expensive theatre once a month, if we wanted to see another movie then we went to the dollar theatre and paid for it ourselves. Enjoy the movie instead of focusing on the negatives.

As a "white person" I enjoy going to this theater with my family .... In fact I came to this site to view movie times .... When I came across this comment that pissed me off I decided to copy it add a few notes ....."The Hood really it is not.(?) If U call that the hood U have no idea what the hood really look like( really looks like?) .. smh trust no one want what's in ur car ( trust no one want what's??? grammar!!!!! )....lol U ppl are so scary for nothing ( so scary? Or scared?).. we play U white ppl no mind. (here's my favorite part! We play U white ppl no mind ?!?!? Um wtf?) Anyway I rember ( lol remember...) when this place was brand new and it has gone down( ummm ??) . I hope they can maintain the place.. for many that's the only way we can take your family as a whole $20 is enough to enjoy.. ( lmao too much to fix ) thx movie 8 u do have supporters who don't think they to ( they are too) good to go to Movie 8 on the East side."
.... When it comes to the color of skin I have no issue ... I love all of gods children .... What I can't stand is stupidity .... -
I have been bringing my entire family to this movie theater for years and I am so thankful that it is still open! The family and group prices make it affordable and the snack deals which include free refills on the large popcorn and cokes is great! We share our snacks! Also, if you have any concerns, I have found writing a letter or asking to quietly speak with the manager is very effective! Mr. Franklin is very gracious and works hard to resolve issues quickly and quietly and effectively. It is nice to still have cheaper choices and we need to support local businesses that offer discounted prices. Thankful and blessed to be able to go to the movies.

I remember when Cinemark Movies 8 first opened their doors for business. It was so nice and clean. Prices of the tickets and the concession stand were very reasonable. The patrons has helped with the deterioration of each movie theatre by: those do not know how to use the waste basket at each exit, dropping your children off as means of a babysitter (allowing your children to do whatever), parents who have sick children allowing them to vomit on the floor and the seats instead of exiting the theatre immediately, parents allowing children to use the seats as a jungle gym, ... This has lead to run-down condition of the theatre. In addition, management should have employees to escort people out of the theatre immediately if they can not or not behave accordingly. Also, management should make sure the restrooms are clean on a hourly basis. Women and men patrons should show respect by using the facilities accordingly instead of using the floor.
